Villa La Cascina, once a distinguished old Tuscan farmhouse, has been completely restored to its original splendor. This superb property offers the most elegant, luxurious, country-style accommodations. The impressive hilltop location affords spectacular, sweeping 360 degree views that stretch literally for miles across its estate to the neighboring towns and villages.

Sunny and bright, yet airy and cool, La Cascina is the ideal place for group gatherings and special events. The villa features southerly facing sitting rooms with typical Tuscan brick arches, a grand master fireplace lounge and dining areas which open onto paved terraces through a façade of French windows. The two-floor main house, which sleeps 12, is enhanced with four independent, fully-equipped suites sleeping 17. The suites are part of the main house (two on the ground floor, two on the first floor), but have their own private external access and independent kitchens. The large main villa kitchen with fabulous central island is equipped with high-tech Italian fixtures and fittings. Its state-of-the-art equipment is perfect for chefs, gourmands and for hands-on cooking classes and demonstrations. The lovely bedrooms at La Cascina are decorated in rich Tuscan country style with coordinating natural fabrics, each with elegant en suite or private shower room, all newly fitted with cool white porcelain and spacious showers. La Cascina is fully air-conditioned for ultimate comfort.

Villa La Cascina's views from the gardens and pool over the countryside are simply magnificent. Outside features include a mosaic tiled infinity pool with hydro massage area, and old stone paved solarium furnished with large lounges for soaking up the sun. Adjacent to the pool there is a lovely loggia (superb for parties and family gatherings!) equipped for dining; beautifully cushioned sofas and chairs for relaxing; and a fantastically set-up BBQ area. Approximately 20 minutes away from the villa you can enjoy the 18-hole international golf course at Castelfalfi; or if you prefer, it is only 10 minutes to horseback riding or to the tennis club. It is advisable to rent a car while at La Cascina, since the closest shops and restaurants are about 3.5 miles from the property.

What to do in the Montaione region of Tuscany

San Gimignano
Atop one of the hills that dominate the Elsa Valley is the ancient medieval city of San Gimignano, which still preserves its roots and boasts beautiful works of art. Highlights which must be seen are the Collegiate Church and Museo Civico. The Collegiate Church, one of the most famous in the world, contains frescoes by Benozzo Gozzoli and Ghirlandaio, while the Museo Civico has a renowned collection of apothecary jars from the Spezieria di Santa Fina. Besides its famous Vernaccia wine, San Gimignano's many shops offer the products of typical Tuscan artisans, marked by the skill and tradition handed down from father to son. Here you can enjoy everything from boar sausages to cheeses, from terracotta to hand-made pottery to leather goods.

Volterra
The magical and mysterious city of Volterra has its roots in three thousand years of history. In this unique, artistic city, you can find evidence and traces of every historical period. Besides being a city of museums, Volterra is rich in natural beauty. There are organized excursions on foot, on horseback or by bicycle along sign-posted itineraries. Volterra is also famous for the regional gastronomical specialties and for the warm hospitality offered to visitors. During the summer, there are many cultural events like the annual festival Volterra Teatro, classical and contemporary music concerts, exhibitions and folklore events that enable visitors to enjoy a rich and varied holiday.
