This strikingly beautiful restored country house is located in the Maremma region of the west coast of Tuscany. A groomed lawn and 19 acres of olive groves and woodlands surround this elegant 2-story property. The stylish and inviting interiors of the villa have been featured in Architectural Digest, and showcase many beautiful antiques, typical Tuscan style furniture and marble bathrooms. This intimate luxurious haven, which features a main villa and a separate annex (both with air conditioning and heating), is ideal for private getaways or family reunions.

MAIN VILLA
The main villa has four spacious and beautiful bedrooms—two queen bedrooms each have an en suite bathroom, and two twin bedrooms share a private bathroom. All bathrooms are made with finely-crafted Italian marble.

The main villa features a professional kitchen and several spacious living areas with fireplaces between the ground and first floors. A book library extends throughout the second floor with lounge areas on either side.

Relax by the spectacular swimming pool, which has a rock-grotto waterfall, outdoor (cold-water) shower, whirlpool, and a shallow end for small children.

ANNEX
The annex is a small, independent unit equipped with the same standards as the main villa, only a few steps away. There is fully-equipped kitchen and a living/dining area with access to the lovely gardens. A queen/twin bedroom has a bathroom with a beautiful marble Jacuzzi tub and towel heater.

Podere is located just a few miles from Grosseto, and is the ideal place for enjoying the beautiful unspoiled beaches of the Maremma coast and the fancy harbor of Puntala. The cities of Rome, Florence, Pisa and Siena, all world famous for their artistic heritage and stunning beauty, are all within easy reach. The Natural Uccellina Park and Marine Argentario Park are only 20 minutes away. The beach and tennis, spa, and gym facilities are just 5 minutes away by car. The caretakers reside on the property in a separate unit and are at the guests' disposal, with privacy and discretion guaranteed.

While Maremma has long been known as the centre of Tuscan gastronomy, the region has recently been embraced by world famous French chef Alain Ducasse. His incredible restaurant is within easy walking distance of the villa.

What to do in the Maremma region of Tuscany
This extraordinarily lovely stretch of Italy sits between Rome and Pisa, offering expansive, breathtaking views of the islands of Giglio and Elba. Highlights of the area include the unspoiled fishing village of Castiglione della Pescaia, endless stretches of incomparable beaches, and the medieval village of Massa Marittima. This enchanting cobble-stoned village has become greatly popular and is home to many international artists and socialities. Also worth a visit is the magical and mysterious city of Volterra, with its roots in three thousand years of history. Today the city preserves above all its medieval qualities, not only in its 12th-century city walls, but also in its urban layout with narrow streets, palaces, tower houses and churches. Strongly recommended are visits to the surrounding towns of Populonia and Baratti, Suvereto, Campiglia Marittima, Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri.

Numerous day trip possibilities include the chic harbor of Puntala and the major art cities of Siena, Pisa and Florence. Boat rentals for cruising around the coast are available, and private tours of the region's many acclaimed wineries can be arranged.

Recommendations:

Restaurants While in Massa Marittima, stop for an exquisite meal at Osteria del Vecchio Borgo.
