This sand-colored two-story dwelling is a majestic fortress standing proudly against the rolling green hills of Tuscany and the vast expanse of blue sky above—hearkening back to the days of Rome's triumph and the agrarian society it once represented. The lawns, pergolas, patios, and separate annex, combined with the warmth of the interiors, make Rita an unforgettable destination.

The property is reached via a rustic dirt road and offers breathtaking, panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Once inside, you will be embraced by the warmth of the soft lighting; the many alcoves, nooks and crannies; and the comfortable furnishings. The driveway leads to the large foyer—entry on the ground floor leads directly into the kitchen with cozy sitting area with fireplace and a washer and dryer area. The space unfolds into a dining area, study, and large living room with fireplace—back entrance to a lower back patio. The first floor beckons with an inviting living room with fireplace and desk area with phone. There are four bedrooms in the main house on the ground and first floors (a fifth bedroom can be reached via a separate entrance). Directly down a hill, within full view of the villa, is a two-story annex with four bedrooms (including one with a separate entrance). The dependence has a cozy living area with a fireplace and a small kitchen —French doors lead out to a dining space with dramatic views. The main house is air-conditioned throughout and the annex and villa have flat-screen TVs in many of the bedrooms and living areas.

Rita is a relaxing retreat just a day trip away from the major historic cities of Tuscany. Settle in to enjoy the fantastic landscape and accompanying serenity then trek off to see the sites! In late afternoon, wander down the graduated steps leading from the villa to a beautiful swimming pool. In early evening, dine under the gracious pergola. This is sophisticated country living at its best...

What to do in the San Casciano dei Bagni region of Tuscany
Take a visit to the reknowned thermal spa in San Casciano dei Bagni. It was the Etruscans who first discovered the healing properties of the thermal waters in Val d'Orcia. In the 17th century, the renowned Medici family built a series of baths, which have been reborn as a luxurious new spa featured in Travel & Leisure.

The enchanting town of Cetona will charm you with its cobblestone streets and medieval architecture. This lovely village has grown in popularity as a home for international artists and socialites. Stop for an exquisite lunch or dinner at Osteria Vecchia (so good!)—you won't be disappointed.

Definitely worth a visit are Orvieto, Assisi and Todi. Head to Deruta to shop for the renowned local ceramics. Last but not least, make sure to check out the chocolate museum in Perugia!
